Genealogical Records

Biographic and Genealogical References

  1. ) Aylesworth Genealogy; page 85: Jeremiah Aylesworth (4th Generation), son of Arthur, married 24 July 1768 Phebe Allen, daughter of Jonathan, and dwelt in Quidnesett. "She died at about fifty years of age." He married his second wife, Anne Spencer, daughter of Her___ Spencer, 11 ____ 1795. (N. Kingston Vital Rec.) She died 8 April 1816; and he 21 Jan 1827, aged 88 years. {Editorial Note (RRB): This record of his age specified at his death date establishes a birth date boundary between 22 Jan 1738 and 21 Jan 1739, and this creates a bit of a quandary because even the later date is at least two years prior to the marriage date of his asserted father and mother, and if the presently (Dec 2020) published 1720 birth date found in the Wikitree profile for his father Arthur Aylesworth is correct, then Arthur was only 18 or 19 and unmarried when Jeremiah was born. This does suggest Arthur may have been born a few years earlier and may have had a prior wife, or it may be as the raw evidence infers. }
