Their Aldingbourne, WEST Sussex marriage:

"18/12/1828 L G AYLING Henry from Holy Trinity Guildford, Surrey. With consent of parents B WHITBURN Sarah With consent of parents W AYLING Charlotte W AYLING Henry W WHITBURN Thomas"

Henry was likely born in 1793 in Easebourne, West Sussex: "25/08/1793 Henry Thomas Elizabeth AYLING". I know that in the census he says he was from EasTbourne (East Sussex), but I find no record of him there. It seems more likely he was from Easebourne, WEST Sussex. I note that their first daughter Emmeline is baptized in nearby Midhurst, West Sussex in 1832: "11/01/1832 Emmeline Henry Sarah AYLING Clerk from Guildford, Surrey". They also have a son Charles in 1850 in Guildford.

Father Thomas married Elizabeth Haslett in Guildford, Surrey in April 28, 1791.

I note this baptism "13AUG1797 James Ayling s. Thomas & Elizabeth Haslett [Astlett?] born 24 Jun in Cobham, Surrey. From the Ripley burial records: 05FEB1798 James Aylen from Cobham, 7 mths (not in chapel register). This is consistent with an absence in Easebourne for their family group:

25/08/1793 Henry Thomas Elizabeth AYLING 06/09/1795 Thomas Thomas Elizabeth AYLING 19/08/1798 William Thomas Elizabeth AYLING 26/10/1800 Mary Thomas Elizabeth AYLING 20/02/1803 George Thomas Elizabeth AYLING 19/01/1806 Ann Thomas Elizabeth AYLING 20/11/1808 Charlotte Thomas Elizabeth AYLING

I am not certain of Thomas' origins. Likely West Sussex given where he raised his children, and that county is the origin county for all Ayling in West Surrey after the mid 1600s. Probably born 1760-1770 period in a nearby parish to Easebourne.
