Biography

Robert was born in 1905. He is the son of Stanley Ayling and Minnie McNatty. He married Constance Miriam Jauncey in 1934. Robert served in World War 2 as Lance Corporal, 27th Machine Gun Battalion, 2nd New Zealand Division. His three older brothers had all served in World War 1, and two died during the war. Robert passed away in Napier in 1974, aged about 69.
