Biography

Staunton Aylor married Melinda Quaintance on 20 Dec 1838 in Rapahannock Co., VA. Together they had 12 children. His parents were Lewis and Nancy (Creel) Aylor.

A story told to JoAnn Aylor Halaby by her father, Malon House Aylor, grandson of Staunton and Melinda Aylor, tells of Staunton riding a horse up to the home of the very well-to-do Quaintance family in the middle of the night and making off with Melinda to marry her.

Staunton and Melinda moved to MO about 1880.
