Gabriel Aynes Sr lived in Virginia.

Gabriel Aynes was born in 1802 in Virginia. [1]

Marriage: He married Sarah Catherine Lawson in 1824 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. About 1831, they relocated to Brown County, Indiana and had twelve children together. The first four were born in Tennessee and the last eight were born in Indiana:

  3. Nancy Jane (Aynes) Hall (1827-1874)
  4. Rebecca (Aynes) Hall ( 1828-1891)
  5. William Joseph Aynes ( 1831-?)
  6. Gabriel Aynes Jr (1833–?)
  7. Peter Aynes ( 1833-1914)
  8. John Aynes ( 1835-1900)
  9. James H. Aynes ( 1839-?)
  10. Nathan Aynes ( 1840-?)
  11. Hannah Jane (Aynes) Golliver ( 1843-1924)
  12. Sarah Ann Aynes ( 1845-?)

In 1848 and 1856, he was issued Land Grants of 40 acres in Brown County, Indiana. His wife passed away in 1853. By 1860, he and his two youngest daughters, Hannah Jane and Sarah Ann, briefly removed to Douglas County, Missouri.

He passed away in 1868 and is buried in the Deckard Cemetery, Brown County, Indiana.
