Albert was the son of Overton and Elizabeth (Becknell) Azbill, and the brother of Nancy Ellen, Mary, Joseph, William, Charles, Juann, Chilela, and Laura. He was born in Kentucky in July of 1871. His father was a medical doctor in Laurel County, Kentucky. Albert married Permelia Melinda Settle on April 22, 1891. Their children were Minnie, Lucy, Maud, Charley, and Nora. In 1900, Albert and Melinda were living in Jackson County, Kentucky, where Albert was a dentist. Malinda died in 1901.
By 1910, he had moved his dental practice to Berea, Kentucky. Living with him there was his second wife, Fannie, his children Lucy, Nora, and Nancy, his granddaughter, Lucile Moore, (Lucy's daughter), and his sister-in-law, Juan Lusk. Albert and Fannie had one child, Preston Cornelius Azbill, born in 1911. In 1917, Albert became ill, possibly with smallpox. He spent almost 2 years in Eastern State Hospital before dying there in 1919.
Note: The 1880 US Census reports his birthplace as Illinois, but all other census records give his birthplace as Kentucky. However, his death record states that his birthplace was Illinois.
Note: "My grand mother was Fanny (or ie.) Preston, she was the second wife of Albert in Berea, KY and gave birth to my father Preston Cornelius Azbill May 5, 1911. Preston was the only child of that union. Preston married Mary Mable Newman and they had four children: Peggy Louise 1935, Joe Chapin 1937, Teddy Frank 1940 and Freddy Grant 1943." Teddy Frank Azbill.
