Berte Baardsdatter was born, roughly estimated, about 1670. Her origins and parents are unknown.
The 1695 probate after her husband, Jon Jetmundsen Kvistad, names Berette Baarsdatter as his widow and lists two children:[1][2]
She then must have married Arne Aamundsen Gjerde, who was listed in the 1701 male census at Qvistad and listed as the father of Baar Joens. (his stepson).[3] Another son was also listed in the census:
