Josephine Baas Lucas Huff was born in 1880. She passed away in 1964 at the age of 83.
Josephine was married first to Charley Lucas from Mississippi. Based on a calculated age from the 1900 census and the age of her first child, she married at the age of 14 or 15. Her husband Charley, was 26 at the time and died in 1901. The couple had three children, the last, Charley, Jr was born close to the time of or after his father's death.
Sometime before the 1910 Census, Josephine married Rufus Dawson Huff and brought her 3 children into the household with her. In the 1910 census, six children are listed in the household. By the 1920 Census, Josephine had given birth to Ruby Lee, the daughter of Rufus Dawson Huff bringing the total of children raised by Josephine to 7.
1900 Josephine is in household of her first husband Charley Lucas with two children. [1]
