Born in Massachusetts, now living in Virginia.
I worked on genealogy full time for about 15 years, had to be away from it for about 10 years, then got back into it in 2011. My mother was Scottish, my father was half Acadian and half French-Canadian.
I published a website back in 1999 for Acadian and French-Canadian genealogy. It was on CompuServe, so some of the pages were lost when CompuServe shut down, but most of it is still available at http://www.lindawjones.com.

Re: Adam or Adrien Destroismaisons. I rechecked my sources: no change. One source (PRDH) mentions Adrien.
I gave a very close look at the birth registry of Philippe and to my reading, it is "Adam" that is writen along with Antoinette Leroux. But the handwriting is so bad...!
I also would like to be sure.
I wrote a short Note on Adam's page to reflect your claim.

I do agree that Jetté is a reliable source but you had not cited any sources which could have made the difference. I then had to follow the ones I had. I will however check deeper other sources as it is known that one of the sources that had followed was Cyprien Tanguay which is known to have made some mistakes. I'll make the correction if I find Jetté corroborated.
No hard feelings! We are here to exchange and cooperate towards the right info!

Just recently, you amended "Adam" Destroismaisons's profile for "Adrien". I have several sources attesting that "Adam" was the one who married Antoinette Leroux and I find no trace of one Adrien.
As it is one of the profiles that I manage and trust my sources, I changed it back to "Adam". However, I would be glad to know your sources for Adrien.
I hope you understand and agree. If not, let me know.
Regards and happy new year!
