Elizabeth Babcock, born 4 May 1780 at Stonington, Connecticut, was the fourth child of Elizabeth (Palmer) Babcock (abt.1749-1818) & Joshua Babcock (1743-1810).
Elizabeth Babcock grew up in an agricultural family, her father being one of the prominent farmer and merchant residents on Pendleton Hill (Stonington).
Before her marriage she made the trip to Bridgewater, Oneida County, New York, on horseback, with her four brothers. Returning to her home in Stonington, she was married to Peleg Brown, 19 Oct 1800. She then went with her husband in a carriage to Babcock Hill, Bridgewater, New York, where they made a permanent settlement [1].

Elizabeth (Babcock) Brown died 2 Jan 1871 in Bridgewater, New York. Her grave is in Fairview Cemetery, Bridgewater, Oneida County, New York, USA [3].
