George Badcock, also known as Babcock, was born 21 Jun 1692 at Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He was the son of Return Babcock and Sarah Deneson.[1][2] George died 7 Mar 1771 and is buried at Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet, Dartmouth. [3]
George married first Jemima Spooner about 1723,[4] likely in Dartmouth. George and Jemima had two known children:
George filed a marriage intention with Elizabeth Waste, both stated to be from Dartmouth, August 23, 1729, at New Bedford, Bristol, Massachusetts.[5]
George's known children with Elizabeth were George, Sarah and Jemima.[4]
George's will, dated October 31, 1765, was proved April 3, 1771. In it he names his wife Elizabeth, sons John, Benjamin and George, and daughters Sarah Bell and Jemima Badcock.[4]
George's father signed an "Oath of Fidelity (Freeman's Oath)" at Dartmouth on 24 May 1686.[6]
