Research Notes

According to genealogists Marcel Walter Landry and Karen Theriot Reader, Sophie was the daughter of Victor Babin and Cécile Godin dit Bellefontaine. [2][3]

At Sophie's burial, Charles and Hippolyte Babin were present and listed as her brothers in the register.

Mother Marguerite Piot's status is marked "uncertain" until better sources are found.

Hi Nina,

Two reliable family trees by genealogists and Sophie's burial record indicate that she was the daughter of Cécile Godin dit Bellefontaine. I couldn't find any information about Marguerite Piot. The Musée Acadien link isn't working and it won't be repaired - I checked with them. Would you have more information about Sophie's link to Marguerite Piot? Thanks!
