Severin Babineaux, son of Onesime Babineaux and Julienne Benoit, was born 1 Sept 1837 and baptized at the Grand Coteau church, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. [1]

He married Onezia Jagneau, the daughter of Alexis Jagneau and Josephine Savoie. A civil marriage was performed on 3 Feb 1862 and a church marriage was performed on 28 Mar 1863, both in Lafayette, Louisiana. [2]

He and his wife died sometime before the marriage of thei son, Mentor, in 1892. [3]
