François Baby is/was a significant Ontarian .
François Baby belonged to one of the most powerful families in the Western District of Upper Canada. He was a French Canadian militia officer, politician, justice of the peace, businessman, and office holder; born 16 Dec. 1768 in Detroit, son of Jacques Baby dit Dupéront, and Susanne Réaume (Rhéaume), dit La Croix.
He married Frances Abbott on September 5, 1795 and they had twelve children, eight sons and four daughters.
In the War of 1812, he served as assistant quartermaster general of the Essex Militia with the rank of Captain, taking part in fighting on both the Detroit and Niagara frontiers, before being taken prisoner by the Americans.
His newly built home was used by both sides as a headquarters during the War of 1812 and, located in downtown Windsor, it is now a museum and national historic site.[1]
Known as Colonel because he briefly served in 1807 as Colonel of the Essex Militia, Francois was a prominent Windsor area politician in the first half of the 19th century. Unlike his brother James who was a member of the Family Compact, Francois was known as a reformer.

Baby-61 and Baby-44 appear to represent the same person because: Both are married to Frances Abbott (see biography in Baby-44). Baby-61 has wrong date of birth IMO.
