The Bach family is shown in the 1891 census in Merrywood Terrace, Reg District Bedminister in County Somerset. John A 57 Master Mariner, Emilie M 49 both born Norway; Louisa 18 Bay of Bengal, Edward 12 Norway, Mally 9 Somersetshire and Lily 7 Somersetshire [2].
After her father passes away at sea in 1893 on the ship Selma, the family travel to New Zealand landing in Wellington 11 Jan 1897 on the ship Ionic. The eldest son Charles stayed in England as he was married but there is no mention of the daughter Ragnhild Johansen Bach or the eldest daughter Anna. Anna marries in New Zealand in 1890 so arrived on another ship much earlier. Family shown as: Mrs Bach 52 yrs married, Louisa 20, Mally 11, Lilly 10 and Edward 17 [3].
Louisa marries John Edward Mortimer in New Zealand in 1903 and they had 4 children: 1 son and 3 daughters [4].
She passed away in 1952 in Taranaki, New Zealand [5].
