Biography
Obituary: Roger Verden Back, 75, born November 12, 1938 the son of the late Richard Back and Melva Brewer Back went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.
He was the faithful, loving husband of Evelyn Brown Back for 48 years. The loving father to Lori (Richard) Franklin and Amy (Aaron) Brown. The proud papaw to Sara Franklin, Gunnar Brown, Harper Brown, Hannah Brown and Charie Coulliette; and brother of Joyce (James) Botts and Marcia (Donnie) Amburgey. He also leaves behind several special nieces and nephews.
He was a Christian and a member of Botts Church for 44 years, a veteran of the United States Army, former teacher at Cold Cave School and former employee of Hobart Mfg. Co in Mt. Sterling, KY. Roger loved his garden and enjoyed raising vegetables and giving them away. He also had a love of woodworking. Roger leaves behind many loved ones and dear friends.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Friday at the Botts Christian Church with Pastor Rick Back and Evangelist Jimmy Daulton officiating and burial following in the Back Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church Thursday evening from 4-9 PM. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Botts Church. Pallbearers will be Jesse Back, Lester Back, Simon Back, Mark Back, Scott Bromwell and Jamey Botts. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Isaac, Dale Back, Velmer Back, Larry Back, Anthony Back, Mike Brown, Jeff Brown, David Brown, Patrick Bromwell, Delmus Brewer, Kelly Brewer, Denzil Brewer, Donnie Amburgey, James Botts and the Congregation of the Botts Church. Taul Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
