Identified by Jones as the son of Johannes Backes and Catharina Werner bpt. sept. 30 1677 at Genheim. He proposes as wife Elisabetha Catharina (no LNAB), lists their 7 children (and grandchildren) and finds him on Dutchess Co. tax lists until 1742 (p. 770f).

Backus-95 and Backes-52 appear to represent the same person because: wife's maiden name still needs research, but these represent the same man; parents are set in merges

Backus-95 and Backes-52 are not ready to be merged because: There are enough similarities that these two profiles are certainly for the same person. But they have different parents, which has to be resolved. Also, I would like to see the death dates reconciled before doing a merge.
