Alfred William Backshall was born on January 4, 1865 in Irwin River, Colony of Western Australia, son of George Augustus Backshall (1827–1869) and Mary Brandis (1849–1934).[1]
Alfred (24) married Teresa Marie Perejuan (34) (born on December 22, 1855 in Perth, Western Australia; daughter of Juan Perejuan and Ann Maria (Farmer) Perejuan) in 1890 in Allanooka, Western Australia. Their children were:
Alfred died on July 5, 1944 in Geraldton, Western Australia, Australia, aged 79. He was buried in Greenough Pioneer Cemetery.[1]
