Charlotte immigrated to Buffalo, New York in 1835 with her family. Charlotte married George Smith (Born 1814 in Ireland, died 1873) in Hamilton, Ontario in 1845 and eventually had 12 children, 8 girls and 4 boys. After George's death Charlotte was remarried to James Cromar (1836-1907). The couple spent time in Minnesota and North Dakota before returning to Hill Hall, Saskatchewan (now Benson) in 1902.
