From the South Australian Weekly Chronicle of Saturday 8 September 1883 we see his Death Notice below:
Since my last Mr. Alexander Badenoch, another old colonist has died at the ripe old age of 84 years. He had been a resident in the hills ever since he came to the colony, 31 years ago. He was much respected by all who knew him, and notwithstanding the wet weather a great many attended his funeral. In the absence of a minister the undertaker had to read the burial service, though a minister is living in the neighborhood
He was buried in Mt Lofty Cemetery, Uraidia, Adelaide Hills Council, South Australia, Australia.[6]
