McPherson Kan. 14th, 1891

Katie As Pa is writing I will add my note. Thought yesterday I would have time, but failed. In the morning we must be to Chapel at 10, Sunday comes after then Reebers and Wetzels and Sister Arer and 3 young men to Bro Brooks and Bro Pricket and Sisters McGuaill & Brooks also a young Lady from North western Kan. Lena Philips Wetzels oldest is expected again the 23 so he said yesterday if that is so I wonder wether he will go to Walnut Valley. We did not ask him concerning that. He has been sick. Did not go to Newton. We had a nice little rain last night. Ratie says I should tell you she has got out of the notion of coming altogether, but I tell her she may change her mind again. Then Alice and Earl want to go very bad, Earl says he wants to go up there and go to school. Where have you your bed standing? I did not think it would reach out so near the stove. If Uncle Enoch and Aunt Annie come to your Council they will be there this week I guess. Aunt Annie is at Naloes now. Uncle E went Iowa to that called District Meeting. I wonder if he will go to see Father & Mother. Father is sick again same as before. Ratie was over to the College hauled the girls & milk and went to see Bro Sharf the Doelar stayed a good while this morning to dress his foot - so Ratie went over to see him and he wanted her to stay a while and spin a few school yarns. He did not say that but she said that is what she done. He was very lively she said but did not want to try it - to go over to the College this morning as was reported he would. Lou Ferringer is worse. Daniel Vaniman come home this morning he said the boys would come to eat supr overnite lunch that is laying over today hope they will. We are anxious to dig cistern but Pa has done so much hard work serafreion out that fishpond that he complains so much in his back. Can lye in the morning early it pains him so that he must get up and move around. We roasted a rooster & piece of young beef yesterday set in the oven in the roasting pan and when we come home it was very soft and nice. Seadyas soon as we made coffee and cooked potatoes the dinner was ready. Ratie took some paper over and pens and I must go and finish dinner. Ma says I am not coming Christmas. If Orin wants to come I will, but I don't think you care for me to come. I remember you said you would be glad when we were gone, and as Ja and Ma were back awhile they made enough bother. So no more of use needs to come now. Besides I am busy.

(A note upside down on top of second page) Disbi Aeker is here yet she stayed all night I will go with her to Rebers a little while and take this down to office. Ma
