Biography

RAILWAY MAN KILLED BY SHUNTING TRAIN When he was knocked down by a shunting goods train at Junction road, Port Adelaide, yesterday afternoon, George Badman, 63, a railway gangsman, of Dudley street, Semaphore, received a fractured skull and abrasions to the hands and face. He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a South Australian ambulance, but was found to be dead on arrival. The body was taken to the City Morgue. A report is being prepared for the Acting City Coroner (Mr. Geo. Ziesing, S.M.).

No blame was attributable to the crew of a train which struck and killed James William George Badman, 63, permanent way packer, of Dudley street, Semaphore, the coroner decided. The deceased man stepped into the track of the train near Junction road, Rosewater, on July 3, and later died from a fractured skull while being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the coroner said.

He is buried at the Mallala Cemetery South Australia
