Biography

1850 US census: Susan lived with her mother, Elizabeth Bagwell and siblings in a household they shared with the Rud family in Dirt Town, Chattooga, Georgia. The Bagwells are listed at household "5a" while the Ruds are simply "5." Susan's mother Elizabeth had real estate valued at $1500, while the Rud's claim $500. So maybe Elizabeth had sold some land to the Ruds?[1] Susan was the youngest child in the house, at age 15. Siblings:

  • Sarah (b. 1832)

United States Census, 1860 Susan lived in Dirt Town Valley, Chattooga County, Georgia with her husband Stinson. They have a small piece of land valued at $500 and personal estate valued at $150.

Susan Adcock was enumerated as wife of the head of household in ED 126 Sulphur Township (south part), Miller County, Arkansas for the June 27, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born November 1834 in Georgia and had been married forty-two years. She was the mother of eight children of which four were still living as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Stinton Adcock, son Joseph S Adcock, grandson Julious A Adcock, granddaughter Pearl M Adcock, grandson Jewel J Adcock, grandson Elbert B Adcock, grandson Ennis L Adcock and monthly laborer James Bowens.[2]

Susan A Bagwell Adcock is buried at Olive Branch Cemetery in Brightstar, Miller County, Arkansas, USA, PLOT Sec B, Row 15.[3]
