Biography

Louis J. Baham was born circa 1849 at Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, USA. He appeared on the census of 20 July 1860 in the household of his parents, Pedro Baham[1] and Mary Virginia (Beer) Baham at St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.[2] He was a laborer when he appeared on the census of 11 Jun 1870 in the household of his parents at Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.[3]

He married Marie Delpit[1], daughter of Lucas Delpit and Catherine Douchet, circa 1873.[4]

He was a shipwright when he and Marie appeared on the census of 7 June 1880 at Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.[5] He was a ship carpenter in when he and Marie appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 at Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.[6] He was a carpenter when he and Marie appeared on the census of 19 April 1910 at Pine St., St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.[7] He was a carpenter when he appeared on the census of 3 Jan. 1920 at Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.[8] He was a carpenter at a shipyard in 1930 when he appeared on the census of 7 April 1930 at Madisonville, St. Tammay Parish, Louisiana.[9]

Louis died on 23 Jan. 1934 at Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana[1] was buried at Madisonville Cemetery, plot 279, Main St., Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. His memorial has a photo of a headstone with names of family members.[10]
