Peter was the fourth of seven children born to Mathias and Anna Christina Schumacher Bahn. Although he was baptized in the Catholic Church in Vilich,[1] he was born in Holzlar, both then part of the Electorate of Cologne (Kurfürstentum Köln), a principality in the Holy Roman Empire (Sacrum Romanum Imperium). Holzar is on the east side of the Rhine across from Bonn. His mother died when he was 21 years old. His father remarried and had seven more children.
Peter married Anna Maria Steudt some time before 1739 and they had eight children.
Peter died when he was 59 years old in Niederpleis, which appears to be within the Duchy of Berg.[2]
