Biography

George was born in 1872. He is the son of James Bailey and Nancy Hayes. In 1880, the family was living in Jackson County, Georgia.^[1]

He married Minnie White, 11 Dec 1893, in Jackson County, Georgia.^[2] By 1900, the family was living in Cunningham Pendergrass town, Jackson County, Georgia.^[3] They were living next door to his parents. He and Minnie had two sons, Stoy (sic) I. and George D. There was also a servant in the home. By 1910, they had moved to Jefferson in Jackson County. The family now included five children: Story, Dewey, Harry Bell, Louise, and Catherine.^[4]

By 1940, the couple was still in Jefferson and had two sons at home, Johnny and Bobby.^[5]

He passed away in 1942.^[6] Burial was in the Woodbine-Jefferson City Cemetery in Jefferson, Jackson County, Georgia.^[7]
