Robert Bailey aka Bayley was born in about 1831 in Whittington, Staffordshire, England to Robert Bailey and Catherine.
Robert Bayley, son of Robert & Catherine, was baptised on 10 Apr 1831 in St Giles Parish, Whittington.[1]
In 1841 Robert Bailey (age 9) lived at Whittington Lane in Whittington with his father Robert (40-44), mother Catherine (35-39), and four siblings: Thomas (6), William (2), Sarah (8), and Elizabeth (7).[2]
In 1851 Robert Bayley (age 17, Waggoner) lived in Coton And Comberford, Staffordshire in the household of his employer Richard Nevill.[3]

Robert Bayley (son of Robert Bayley) married Elizabeth Harrison (daughter of John Harrison) on 7 Aug 1863 in Walsall Wood, Staffordshire.[4] The marriage was registered in Walsall in the third quarter of the year.[5]
In 1871 Robert Bailey (age 35, Agricultural Labourer) lived in Walsall Wood, Staffordshire with his wife Elizabeth (28) and son Samuel (1).[6]
In 1881 Robert Bailey (age 47, Ag Lab) lived in Walsall Foreign, Staffordshire with his wife Elizabeth (35) and four children: Samuel (11, Scholar), Alice (9, Scholar), Robert (5), and Sarah J (2).[7]
In 1891 Robert Bailey (age 57, Road Labourer) lived in Walsall Foreign with his wife Elizabeth (47) and four children: Robert (15, Miner), Sarah J (12, Scholar), Thomas (10, Scholar), and Joseph (7, Scholar).[8]
In 1901 Robert Bailey (age 72, Labourer) lived in Walsall Wood with his wife Elizabeth (57) and four children: Robert (24, Coal Miner), Sarah A (22, Packer Ammunition Wks), Thomas (19, Coal Miner), and Joseph (17, Coal Miner).[9]
Robert's wife Elizabeth Bailey passed away in 1903, aged 60 years.
In 1911 Robert Bailey (age 77, Retired) lived in Walsall Wood with his son Robert (33, Coal Miner Hewer), daughter-in-law Annie Maria (32), and two granddaughters: Cissie (5) and Connie (4).[10]
Robert Bailey passed away in 1915, aged 80 years. His death was registered in Walsall in the first quarter of the year.[11]
