James Bailey married Lucy Gay in Lebanon, CT on 26 May 1762 by Rev. Mr. Williams.[1]
Was descended from John Bailey, who came from Chippenham, England, being shipwrecked at Pemaquid (now Bristol), Maine in the great storm on the15th of August, 1635. He settled first at Newbury, Massachusetts, and in 1639 became one of the founders of Salisbury, Massachusetts.[2]
