Biography

Damaris Bailey was born Jan, 1648/49, daughter of the immigrant settler James Bailey and his wife Lydia (Emery) Bailey.^[1]

She was married 8 May 1672 to Thomas Leaver, Jr.^[2] They had four children born at Rowley, MA:

1. Sarah, b. 29 Oct. 1673; m. Jonathan Dresser
2. Damaris, b. 30 July 1677; m. Thomas Dickinson
3. Mary, b. 7 Mar. 1681/82; d. 23 Mar. 1749
4. Lydia, b. 5 Dec. 1684; m. Daniel Thurston, Jr.; m2. Robert Rogers; m3. (Coronet) Stephen Jewett.

Thomas Leaver, Jr. died 25 Apr. 1704 at Rowley, MA, age 57. Widow Damaris Leaver died 1 Mar. 1730/31 at Rowley, MA “an old widow”, age 82.^[3]
