Notes for SUSANNAH BAILEY:
Cause of death was a fever. The minister officiating at the burial was Thomas Wilson [Church of England] while the witnesses to the burial were Robert Leet and John T. Hall. Informant on her death was her husband James and at the time of her death they were living at Roberts Swamp, Portland Head.
It is said that Susannah died in childbirth. Her death certificate states the cause of death was a 'fever', possibly 'puerpera fever', a frequent cause of mothers death after birth, in those early days.
