Biography

Born about 1770.

Nancy married Jeremiah Mize and had 2 children.

After death of her husband Jeremiah Mize Jr. (ca 1812, Union Co SC), she adopted out her sons Thomas and his older brother, John J. Mize b abt 1806 SC.

This was prior to her remarriage to Rev War Vet. James McDonald (they had 3 sons and 2 daughters together).

She passed away on 1856 in Franklin, Georgia, USA.

It is disputed whether Frederick McDonald is the son of Nancy Bailey, or of James McDonald's first wife, Nancy Carruthers.

I traced a "new" mtDNA match for my wife to this person. Her mtDNA type should be HV. This is not based on full mtDNA sequence. Others who are kin to my wife and who have full sequence are HV0.
