I am from Lewistown, Pennsylvania. I lived there for 29 years. My parents are from Central Pennsylvania. My surname ancestors came to Colonial America in 1732 (abt). My family quickly spread across Pennsylvania. We, as a family, started in Berks Country Pennsylvania. The family then went to Codorus, York County, Pennsylvlania following the death of the "immigrant" Bailor. There is a problem with the family line at this point. John Bailor (1812-1897) is not so well accounted for in various family trees. He seems not to have had much communication with of the rest of the Bailor family when I had my Y-DNA done, there were no Bailor surnames associated with my DNA! The surnames included Moore, Muir, Fitzpatrick, and Young with Moore in the ascendancy! I need help with this finding. The family as this point breaks into two segments. One part moved West into Lancaster, Ohio and settled there for a time with other members of an extended family. Another of the son's went his way into Reems Creek, Buncombe, North Carolina with his mother and a couple of brothers. At each move, some relatives stayed in certain areas as other famiy members said good-bye and moved on. I am from the branch that stayed in Central Pennsylvania.

My parents worked on the family genealogy for 25 years doing it the old-fashioned hard way with tons of paper and files. Upon my mother's death, I, reluctantly, took on the role as "family genealogist. I have come to love the job. I have expanded the tree far beyond any dreams of my parents. However, I am indebted to their hard work in establishing a solid ground work.
