Biography
Margaret Bain, daughter of Alexander Bain and Catharine Matheson was baptised in the parish of Urray, Ross & Cromarty on 10 May 1833.[1]
In 1841, the Bayne/Bain family lived at Teanahaun in Urquhart Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. Three of the children were born in Ross and Cromarty, as noted. All other members of the household were born elsewhere in Scotland. The household included Alexander Bayne/Bain, 25; his wife Catherine, 30; Alexander, 9, born in Ross and Cromarty; Margaret, 7; Christy, 6; and the two youngest, both born in Ross and Cromarty, Catherine, 3; and Winy, 1.[2]
...relict of the late Robert Buchan, mother of Robert Buchan (of Rutherglen), Mrs. Ray (Young, N.S.W.), Mrs Power (Wagga, N.S.W), Mrs. Noye (Daylesford), Mrs. G. Jones (Chiltern).[3]
