Biography

Solease Hanley Baird was born on 13 October 13 1903 in Walnut, Kansas to James Robert Baird and Estella (Allen) Baird.

Hanley married first to Bernice Eva King on 23 October 1925 in Walnut, Crawford, Kansas.

Hanley married second to Eleanor Marie Phillis on 29 November 1939, in Independence, Kansas. Hanley and Eleanor lived in Independence several years before venturing west to Fairfield, California.

The couple opened a shoe store, Baird's shoes, in Fairfield. They loved northern California and spent much time in San Francisco and at Lake Tahoe.

Hanley died of a heart attack on 1 June 1 1963, in Solano, California, at the age of 59. He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas.
