Biography
On January 2, 1864, John Chalmers BAIRD, son of John Fleming BAIRD and Margaret MCQUAY was born in Holland Township, Grey County, Ontario, Canada.[1][2][3][4]
On August 19, 1895, John, age 31 years, a bachelor, and Mary Ellen CARSON, age 27 years, a spinster, were married in Chatsworth Village, Sullivan Township, Grey County. The witnesses were Robert James BAIRD of Holland Township and Mary Ellen’s sister, Selina of Sullivan Township. John was residing in Holland Township, Grey County and Mary was residing in Sullivan Township.[1]

On March 31, 1901, John, his wife, Mary, their daughter, Francis and a boarder were living on his farm in Holland Township, Grey County, Ontario.[2]

In 1936, John retired from farming after 55 years.[1]
On March 14, 1942, John, age 78 years, passed away at home at River Street, Tara Village, Arran Township, Bruce County, Ontario. The cause of his death was cerebral thrombosis due to arteriosclerosis. The informant of his death was his son-in-law, George MORRISON of Tara Village.[4]
