Donald Mitchell Baker was born on June 6, 1889 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States, son of Elwood Thomas Baker (1853–1938) and Sallie Wilson (1859–1906).
Donald and his family were living in Brooklyn, New York at the time of the 1900 Census. He was 11 years old and the 4th of the five children in the household which also included his maternal grandmother, Margaret Wilson.[1]
In 1910, Donald M (21) was in the household of Elwood T Baker in Brooklyn Ward 24, Kings, New York. [2]
Donald registered for the draft for World War I. [3]
In 1920, Donald M (31) was in the household of Elwood T Baker. [2]
