Biography

Joseph Baker was born on 08 January 1695/6 in Concord, Middlesex, (then) Province of Massachusetts, the son of William and Elizabeth (Dutton) Baker.[1]

He married Alice Jefts, the daughter of John and Lydia (Fish) Jefts, on 11 December 1716 in Concord.[2][3]

Capt. Joseph Baker died on 03 September 1761 in his 66th year.[4]

The source for Capt. Joseph Baker's parent was asked: "Littleton (MA) Town Records" page 424 lists "William BAKER m. 5-3 1681 Elizabeth DUTTON, resided at Concord, d. June 8, 1702. She died Apr 7 1798 (tpyo error/1698 is correct) Children...Elizabeth b. Sept. 3 1684...Susanna b. Aug 25 1686...Thomas b. June 25 1689 d. young...John b. May 6 1692, d. young...Sarah b. Aug. 13 1698...JOSEPH b. Jan 8 1695-6, m. Dec 11 1716 Alice JEFTS of Billerica, came to Littleton from Concord. He d. Sept 13 1761. She m 2d Dec. 12 1764 Sam Lewis of Reading...Have more info but am using borrowed P/C now and it is without my FTM. Can provide more later. I would like to work this issue with you. I have had trouble with William's wives (i.e. Eddington/French). Of course William's father was also William (b.Eng)and then one more William(b.& d.England)...
