I went though this profile today and added sources that match the listed children. I wanted to visually look at a completed profile with those kids to se if it made sense. After which I came to the conclusion that they dont.
There is a Thomas who lived in Boston and had eight children all born in Boston: Jacob, John, Sarah, Elizabeth, Samuel, Joseph, Benjamin, Nathaniel. He married Sarah Carr.
There is a Thomas who lived in Rhode island and had five children all born in Rhode Island: Thomas, Benjamin, James, Comfort and Mary. and married Sarah (unk)
The Thomas who lived in Rhode Island never lived in Boston and never had kids in Boston.
I believe the children and wife on this profile should be removed.
I believe this Thomas should be merged with Baker-53107
If there are no objections I would like to make these changes. I will also correct the sources to reflect the changes. Im going to give it some time before I do this so you can all let me know if im mistaken.
Baker-53107 and Baker-483 are not ready to be merged because: Appears could be same person. Wife on -53107 was recently removed from -483. Parents on -53107 were recently the same as those on -483. Need reliable sources to be added showing differentiation
Baker-53107 and Baker-483 are not ready to be merged because: Reliable sources need to be added to be sure that they both represent the same person. Looking at the comments below (on -483), there were several Thomas Bakers with different sets of children.
This appears to be a dupe of Baker-483, whose wife you detached and added here. What reliable sources do you have for your changes? Remember, FindaGrave is not considered reliable for pre-1700 profiles.
A new Rev. Thomas Baker 1638-1710 RI has been created (Baker-53107), with linkage to children Comfort, Benjamin, Thomas, James, and Sarah and not married to Sarah Carr (consistent with consensus information from FamilyTreeDNA Baker members and others posted). I did not create Baker-483, but I attached the children above thinking the conflating information would be resolved. If the remaining Baker-483 linkage belongs to "Blacksmith" Baker-18362, then the creator can reattach that linkage and delete Baker-483, or merge Baker-483 with the new Baker-53107 removing the duplication.
