Biography

As a young woman in the 1890's Emma worked for a time in the cotton mills at St. Stephen, New Brunswick. She returned to Victoria and married J. Frank ALBRIGHT in 1898.

A pretty service occurred in the Victoria Free Baptist Church at 4pm, Wednesday, Sept. 28, when Mr. J. Frank Albright of Victoria and Miss Emma R. Baker, daughter of Hezekiah Baker, also of Victoria were united in the "Holy Lands", Rev. A. G. Downey officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in white lace and silk and supported by two maids, Miss Oliver and Miss Shaw, each carrying baskets of beautiful flowers. The ushers were Harry Albright, brother to the groom and Mr. Oliver. The friends of this popular couple had erected a beautiful green arch, and wedding bell on the platform under which they stood during the ceremony. The organ also was covered with twigs and flowers, formed a background. Those who did this work deserve a word of commendation both for their thoughtful kindness in making this arrangement and for the skill and taste displayed. Miss Ella Boyer presided at the organ in her usual happy manner. The church was filled with spectators.

Emma Ruth was born in Victoria, Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada[1]. Emma married John Franklin Albright[2]. She passed away before 1967[1].
