Biography

Otho was born in 1820 to Otho Baker (1781–1855) and Mary (Cox) Baker (1799-1870). He was a farmer. He married (1) Zella Drusilla Birney (1818-1843) on 17 Jun 1841 in Harrison, Ohio.[1] They had one son, Robert Birney Baker, then Zella died when the baby was about a year old.

Two years later, he married (2) Catherine Shanks (1829-1862) on 20 Nov 1845 in Harrison, Ohio.[2] They had a family, including:[3]

Within three months of Catherine's death (on 8 Aug 1862) he married (3) his wife's sister, Mary Ann Shanks (1833-1905) on 18 Dec 1862 in Harrison, Ohio.[4] They had a family, including:[5]

Clement Baker (1863-1939)
an unnamed daughter born on on 9 Jan 1869 in Washington Township, Harrison, Ohio.[6]
Rufus Perry (1870-1952) in Washington Township.
James Alfred Baker (1868-1941)
Jasper Lee Baker (1874-1952)
Hanson Baker (1876-1968)

He outlived his third wife and died in 1908.
