She lived in Duncan Township, Mercer, Illinois, United States for about 15 years[1][2] Davenport, Scott, Iowa, United States for about 20 years.[3][4][5] She died on 28 December 1989, in Everett, Snohomish, Washington, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood, Snohomish, Washington, United States.[6][7]

Opal Baker married William Sass in 1928 in Davenport. He died in 1976. Memorials may be made to St. Marks Evangelical Church, Davenport. She was a member of Veteran of Foreign War. Survivors include a son, Bill, Kirkland, Wash.; a daughter, Betty Lindell, Snohomsh, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.[8]
