Biography

When Opal Beatrice Baker was born on 20 September 1907, in Joy, Mercer, Illinois, United States, her father, Earl Frederick Baker, was 26 and her mother, Edna Elizabeth Hall, was 24. She married James Robert Currie in 1924 in New Boston, Mercer, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She lived in Duncan Township, Mercer, Illinois, United States for about 15 years[1][2] Davenport, Scott, Iowa, United States for about 20 years.[3][4][5] She died on 28 December 1989, in Everett, Snohomish, Washington, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood, Snohomish, Washington, United States.[6][7]

Obituary

Opal Sass EVERETT, Wash. Opal B. Sass, 82, died Thursday at Virginia Manor Nursing Home, Everett. Services and burial will be Saturday at Floral Hills Cemetery, Linwood, Wash. Opal Baker married William Sass in 1928 in Davenport. He died in 1976. Memorials may be made to St. Marks Evangelical Church, Davenport. She was a member of Veteran of Foreign War. Survivors include a son, Bill, Kirkland, Wash.; a daughter, Betty Lindell, Snohomsh, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.[8]
