C. Dale Baker, 80, of Barachel Lane, Greensburg, died Friday morning, July 15, 1994 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, following a serious illness.
Born Nov. 2, 1913 in Jennings County, he was the son of Cecil E. and Carrie E. Ponsler Baker. He married Luella Swango Baker on Dec. 30, 1933. She survives.
He lived in Greensburg most of his married life and passed 15 years in Haines City, Fla. during the winter months. He worked as a mechanic for J.I. Case and worked over 20 years for Thurston's Implement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Alice Marie Griffin of Greenwood; one grandson, Marc L. Griffin of Indianapolis; two brothers, Maurice of St. Omer and Mervin of Shelbyville; and two sisters, Mabel Tarplee and Iris Deiwert, both of Greensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Lee Riggs officiating.
Interment will be in the South Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 18 at the funeral home.
