Biography

Hannah Baker was born May 25, in 1744 in Middletown Twp., Middlesex County, Connecticut, according to transcribed information from FamilySearch.org. Her father's name was Timothy Baker, and her mother's was Hannah Cande. [1]

She was christened on 28 May 1744 in the same place (Middletown, Ct.) according to FamilySearch. [2]

A Findagrave memorial page has been located for Hannah. It provides her birth date as May 28, 1744. It seems likely that this date is based on the christening, rather than birth date. The photo of the inscription on her tombstone reads "Hannah Wife of Thomas Hopkins died July 16, 1827, aged 83 years." Findagrave states that Hannah married Thomas Hopkins Aug. 20, 1765 in Kingston, Washington Co., Rhode Island. No other source for this information has been located yet.

Hannah died in Argyle, Washington County, New York, USA and was buried in Hopkins Cemetery Argyle, Washington County, New York, USA. Listed by Findagrave as children of Hannah Baker Hopkins and her husband Thomas Hopkins are:
