There is a death of a Mary Ely in Woodbridge District registered in Oct-Dec. 1838.
Research Notes
Son William's christening record says that she was late Mary Dickinson of Ipswich, formerly Mary Baker, spinster of Levington. IGI claims to cover Levington, but shows no record of her christening.
Burial
1840
Butley, Suffolk
Age is given as 83.
This parish adjoins Boyton, and there are burial records there to fit both Mary and her husband.
Marriage
11 JUL 1786
Ipswich St Clement, Suffolk
They are recorded as Thomas Ely and Mary Dickinson (wd).
As Mary Baker, she was previously married in the same parish on 19.4.1781 - husband recorded as John Dickerson.
Husband John (surname again spelt as Dickerson) was buried there in December 1784 at age 37, shortly after an infant of the same name, presumably their child.
There is a John Ely christened at Ipswich in 1785, but this is not a child of theirs - parents are given as John and Ann.
