Birth and Parents

David Baldwin was born in Massachusetts.

David, the second son and second of eight children of Henry Baldwin Jr. and Abigail Fiske was born on 8 April 1696 at Woburn, Massachusetts.[1]

Known as "Captain" David, he settled in Sudbury, and was an innkeeper from 1752-1757 at Watertown, adjoining Sudbury, Massachusetts.[2]

Marriage and Children

David married Abigail Jennison, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Goulding) Jennison say 1722 at Sudbury, Massachusetts. [Needs source]. They had seven children born at Sudbury (bp. = baptism):

  1. William Baldwin (b. 11 Nov 1727; d. 1794)[3]m. 1) 15 Feb 1753 at Sudbury, MA, Jane Cook (1723-); m. 2) 25 Apr 1782 at Wayland, MA, Dorcas (Bent) Maynard (1742-1799). She was the widow of Micah Maynard (1735-1778)
  2. Lydia Baldwin (b. 27 Oct 1729; d. 8 Jul 1732, Sudbury, MA)[4][5]

David's wife, Abigail (Jennison) Baldwin died on 12 June 1767 in her 64th year at Sudbury.[11]

Death

David (Captain) Baldwin died on 23 June 1770 in his 70th year at Sudbury.[12]Massachusetts. He is buried in the North Cemetery at Wayland, Middlesex, Massachusetts.[13]David Baldwin's will made 20 November 1766 mentions his wife Abigail and children William, Samuel, Abigail, Elizabeth, Lydia and Mary.[14]
