Biography

Some time after the death of Thaddeus Dod, his widow, Phoebe Baldwin Dod, married a pioneer trustee of Canonsburg Academy, James Foster, who eventually became the grandfather of Stephen Foster. James Foster's son, William Foster (father of Stephen), and Thaddeus Dod's son, Cephas Dodd, attended school at Canonsburg together.
