Many unsourced websites assume she was the wife of Capt. James Ransom/Ransone. This profile was detached from as husband and from his three sons.
There was a Mary Eleanor Baldwin, daughter of Judge Briscoe G. Baldwin and Martha Steel Brown, who married to Capt. James M. Ransom of Charleston, WV.[1] Martha Brown's mother was Frances (Peyton).
This Mary Baldwin was born c. 1810.
