Rose was born in 1880. Parents George Baldwin and Isabella Draper.

She was 2 weeks old when the Baldwin family emigrated from England to New Zealand. The Pleione departed London on 15 August 1880.

Rose married William Francis Herbert Harwood on February 28, 1899 at Hawera - they divorced around 1913. Later she married Charles Buckland on June 17, 1915 in Huntly.

Rose is buried at Hawera General, Block XXII, (new) plot 260 (old plot number 1).
