Will dated 18 Jan 1595/6 John Pilcher otherwise Baldwyn, yeoman of Ticehurst, probate 20 Sep 1602 DPC Lewes.[3] His will mentions: Anne his wife; his son Richard Pilcher als Baldwyn; Marye Pilcher als Baldwyn his daughter; George Pilcher als Baldwyn his son; John, Robert & Thomas the sons of Thomas Smythe; John Pilcher als Baldwyn his son & executor; Land/farm called Downwist surrendered on 23 May 1594;[6] overseers: John Holland & John Hope of Ticehurst. He was buried Ticehurst 12 Aug 1602.[7] He had 4 sons & 2 daughters of whom 3 sons & 1 daughter survived him.
