Biography

James Buchanan Baldwin, M.D., the son of William Augustus Baldwin Isabella Clarke Buchanan.[1]

He and Elizabeth Morrison had two sons:

  • Kenneth Joseph Baldwin
  • Carlisle James Buchanan Baldwin

He was prominent in the military as a member of the Oak Ridge Cavalry, the Governor-General's Body Guard, and the 2nd Dragoons, where he served as surgeon.[2]

Acting Cornet in Governor-General's Body Guard; Assistant Surgeon, 23 Jan 1883 : Surgeon, 16 Oct 1885. He served during Fenian Raid of 1866, and as Assistant Surgeon GGBG in North-West Rebellion of 1885. He joined The 2nd Dragoons as adjutant, 1887.[3]
